* Integrated security. User login is possible by login form of the web site which hosts Chat80.
* Administration web interface for defining application settings. From now on, changes in application settings are done through graphic interface, not web.config file. No need to restart the application for setting changes.
* MS SQL Server database support.
* Faster communication on MSIE clients - webservice.htc is removed. For MSIE, that means faster communication, 50 kB lighter client, no need for WSDL and shared code with Gecko engine.
* Transcription tool. Option of logging chats in the rooms and the tools for checking logged chats. Logs can be viewed, deleted and exported in .xml or .txt format.
* Bad word filter
* Online moderation. Ability to create fully moderated rooms.
* Ban users by username or IP address.
* Other administration options:
Limitation of number of users per server.
Allow chat access to registered users only.
Define rooms with no access to non-registered users.
Forbid private chat for all users.
Forbid private chat for non-registered users.
Broadcast of messages to all users whichever chat room they are in.
Ability to define particular welcome messages for each room. |
